Celebrating National Payroll Week at PCD
We’re excited to celebrate National Payroll Week for the very first time as we recently made a significant move – bringing payroll in-house at Primary Care Doncaster!
This transition was driven by the fact that our payroll system had grown too large to manage externally, and we believed that moving it in-house would be the best decision for the business.
Each month, we now process payroll for an average of 180 employees, ensuring that all reporting is conducted accurately and on time to HMRC and for pension contributions. This monumental task is handled by our Finance and Payroll Manager, Lucy Barker, who has completed a professional course to become qualified in payroll management. Lucy now single-handedly manages our payroll processes, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Her dedication to this role has been invaluable, and we’re proud to highlight her work.
At the heart of payroll is ensuring employees are paid accurately, on time, and in line with legislation. Payroll also plays a vital role in maintaining employee satisfaction, as employees paid on time are happy employees!
In addition to paying salaries, our Lucy also handles responsibilities such as applying tax codes, ensuring National Insurance is correctly deducted, managing sick pay and parental leave, processing benefits, and much more.
This National Payroll Week, we’re proud to reflect on how far we’ve come and to give thanks to the incredible work Lucy does behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly!
