Routine and same day appointments with a GP, Nurse or other Healthcare Professional are available across our five primary care hubs, making it much easier to get the care you need at a location that is convenient for you.
How do I book an appointment?
Simply contact your GP practice in the usual way and they may offer you an appointment at an Extended Access Hub, if this is right for you.
Who can access the service?
Anyone registered with a GP practice in Doncaster can book an appointment through their GP practice. Your practice will advise you if your need can be met by this service. (NB this is not a walk in service

Who will have access to my medical record?
If you have consented, only authorised staff within the service will have access to your medical record. If you do not consent then your GP practice will not be able to offer you one of these appointments. Your medical information will be treated with the strictest of confidentiality. All Doncaster GP practices have agreed to a data sharing agreement which sets out what information will be shared, how and when.
What if I don’t want my medical records to be shared?
If you don’t want your medical records to be viewed then you will need to tell the receptionist at your own practice when they are booking the appointment. They will then offer you an available appointment at your own practice.
Your views and feedback about the Primary Care Extended Access Service
At the end of the consultation with the GP, Nurse or Healthcare Professional you will be asked to complete a patient experience survey. Your views and feedback are important and will help us to make improvements.
Tests and referrals
The GPs, Nurses and Healthcare Professionals in these hubs will send any requests for tests and referrals back to your own GP practice to action—in a small number of cases your own GP practice might recommend a different management plan to the extended access GP.
