This year, the team at Primary Care Doncaster wanted to celebrate #InternationalWomensDay by offering a service specifically for Women in Doncaster, to encourage empowerment and enabling them to take control of their own health and wellbeing. Therefore, in order to help our member practices with wait lists, we held a Smear Test drop-in clinic, where ladies across the borough could attend with no appointment needed!

The day was a huge success, we offered 10 hours of appointments, in those 10 hours we saw 31 ladies and had amazing feedback from many on the day. We were accompanied by two fantastic marshals – Harry and Teresa Robinson, plus our two nurses who worked tirelessly to see as many women as they could – Sally Hall and Kayleigh James.

No to mention, we had the Primary Care Doncaster Service Delivery corporate team on site to administer all of the walk in appointments and to make sure all staff and patients felt welcome on the day.

Thank you to all of the women in Doncaster who attended the walk in, and for any who would like to know if there are more walk-ins in the future, just follow us on social media for announcements! Or, if you don’t want to wait for the next drop in, you can call your GP surgery and ask for a smear test via the Surge Capacity Clinic, which has availability all week!

Great service today, I was welcomed in, felt totally at ease and was in and out in no time. Go get yours ladies! Thank you

Thank you so much for running the drop in clinic today! I came down this morning and everyone was so lovely
