Mental Health Awareness Week

This Mental Health Awareness Week (12–18 May 2025), we’re encouraging everyone across Doncaster to take a moment to check in with loved ones, and with their mental well-being. Mental health affects us all, and whether you’re struggling with anxiety, feeling low, or just not quite yourself, it’s important to remember: you’re not alone and support is available.
💬 Mental Health Support in Doncaster
Here in Doncaster, there are many local services ready to support you, offering advice, activities, and someone to talk to.

💚 Doncaster Mind
Doncaster Mind offers a wide range of mental health and well-being services, including peer support groups, one-to-one support, counselling services, and social/wellbeing activities to improve self-esteem, manage anxiety or low mood. They work with individuals to build confidence, improve mental health, and prevent isolation.
🧠 RDASH Talking Therapies
NHS Doncaster Talking Therapies provides talking therapies to adults who are experiencing common mental health problems such as depression, anxiety and stress. The Doncaster team is made up of psychological wellbeing practitioners, cognitive behavioural therapists and counsellors. The team can offer a range of different talking therapies to support you in managing your mental health and improving your wellbeing. (Please note: You must be registered with a Doncaster GP to access this service.)
👥 Andy’s Man Club
Andy’s Man Club offers free, confidential support groups for men, providing a safe space to talk openly and honestly about mental health challenges. Their goal is to help men face challenging times and break the stigma surrounding men’s mental health by reminding everyone: it’s okay to talk.

Donny Dot is a platform designed for young people, parents, and carers, offering a wide range of mental health resources, service directories, and tools to manage emotional well-being. It helps you understand what’s available locally and how to access it.

Your Life Doncaster, supported by Doncaster Council, is a central hub for mental health and well-being services. From crisis support to counselling, peer groups, and community services, the platform makes it easy to find the right help for you or someone you care about.
🌱 Looking After Your Mental Health
Mental Health Awareness Week is a powerful reminder to prioritise your mental health, whether that means going for a walk, talking to a friend, reaching out to a support service, or simply taking a break when you need one.
And if you’re feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to turn, remember you can also speak with your GP for guidance and support.
