Team PCD takes on Derbyshire’s Highest Abseil in support of Firefly!

On Sunday, 22nd June, members of our team, alongside family and friends, will be taking on the 100ft Miller’s Dale abseil to raise money for Firefly, Cancer Awareness and Support – Primary Care Doncaster’s chosen Charity of the Year.

What started as a family walk quickly turned into a challenge. Back in February, Kristen, our Head of Partnerships, spotted the abseiling point while out with her son. Inspired by the incredible height and spectacular location, she thought: “I can definitely rope some colleagues into this!” – And she did!

Now, we have a brilliant team of four members from our corporate team, one of our PCN colleagues, and a group of supportive friends and family – including children as young as 7 years old – gearing up for the big descent.

Here’s the list of participants:

Kristen, Rick and Ronald (7)
Katie
Laura
Claire and Cole (15)
Sadie and Oli
Jemma and Kirk
Becky and Mia (11)
Louise, Isis (15) and Kyuss (10)

🎗 Why We’re Doing It

We’re raising funds for Firefly, a Doncaster-based charity that provides free transport and support for local people undergoing cancer treatment. Their work makes a huge difference to patients and families across our community, and we’re proud to support their mission through this challenge.

We’d be incredibly grateful if you could support the team and this amazing cause by donating via our fundraising page:

Every contribution helps Firefly continue their work in providing comfort, care, and transport to those affected by cancer in Doncaster.

Stay tuned for updates! We’ll be sharing photos and highlights from the day!
