On Friday, 5th July, we attended the We Care into the Future event hosted by Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals!
The event was a fantastic opportunity to introduce local Year 8 students to the exciting and diverse career path opportunities within General Practice, health and social care.
We had clinicians from practices in Doncaster attending the event, including a clinical pharmacist, a lead nurse, a GP, and a pharmacy technician. Throughout the day, we interacted with children, discussing health checks and the equipment used for testing blood pressure, how to use oxygen monitors to check oxygen levels and explaining the purpose of different medical equipment used within a GP surgery.
The South Yorkshire Workforce Training Hub also joined the event, offering students a VR experience to immerse themselves in the day-to-day operations of a GP Practice.
It was a fantastic day and we hope to have inspired the next generation of healthcare professionals!
