Introducing our 2022 Charity!
Following team consultation, Primary Care Doncaster’s chosen charity for 2022 is Doncaster Mind. Reasoning behind the shortlisting of this charity was due to our organisational values and how much we, as an employer and health care provider understand how important mental health is. Throughout 2021, our team took part various activities in honour of Mental Health awareness week and World Mental Health Day. Our CEO, Laura Sherburn also talks about how PCD recognises the importance of mental health and the actions we take in order to support our employees. You can read all of Laura’s blog post here.
More about Mind Doncaster…
Doncaster Mind was formed in Doncaster in 1979 and since then they have been providing much needed support and advice to people vulnerable to, or experiencing, mental health difficulties – and to their family and friends. They are an independent local charity and affiliated to Mind, the leading mental health charity in England and Wales.
As part of the Mind network, they adhere to Mind’s ethos, aims and quality of standards. Meaning that you can depend on Mind to support you and your friends and family. They also ensure that the money raised goes into services to support the people of Doncaster and the surrounding areas.
They provide services and support, take part in planning of local services, campaign for better services for people with mental health needs, provide information about mental health matters and challenge stigma and discrimination.
Non-urgent advice: Ways fundraising can make a difference…
£5 – Information Pack to be sent out to someone who has recently been diagnosed with a mental health condition.
£10 – Will pay for a client to have an initial assessment to find out about our services and what we can provide and how we can help to gain mental wellbeing.
£20 – One to One Therapy Session.
£60 – Will pay for one individual to attend a four week personal development course.
Primary Care Doncaster are really excited to begin to support Doncaster Mind throughout the whole of 2022, and we are sure to keep you up to date with the total of our funds raised for the charity throughout the year too!
