Routine and same day appointments with a GP, nurse or other healthcare professional are available across several sites in Doncaster. This makes it much easier to get the care you need, at a time that’s convenient for you.

Appointments for this service are released every week at one of our hub sites so you can be seen quickly.

How do I book an appointment?

Simply contact your local practice in the usual way. If they don’t have an appointment at a time to suit you, ask the reception staff about these additional appointments that are available to everyone. 

The staff will let you know of a number of appointments available early morning, late evening and at weekends. This might not be at your usual practice but it does mean you can see a GP or nurse to discuss your health and care needs.

Who can access the service?

Anyone registered with a local practice in Doncaster can book an appointment through their local practice. Your practice will advise you if your need can be met by this service.

Who works in the service?

The service is staffed on the whole by local GPs, nurses, receptionists and other healthcare professionals who work in local GP practices. By working together in this way, it means local GP practices can offer extra appointment for local people.

Who will have access to my medical record?

With your consent, only authorised staff within the service will have access to your medical record. If you do not consent then your local practice will not be able to offer you one of these appointments. 

Your medical information will be treated with the strictest of confidentiality. All Doncaster practices have agreed to a data sharing agreement which sets out what information will be shared, how and when.

What if I don’t want my medical records to be shared?

If you don’t want your medical records to be viewed then you will need to tell the receptionist at your own practice when they are booking the appointment. They will then offer you an available appointment at your own practice.

Tests and referrals

The clinician you see will send any requests for tests and referrals back to your own local practice to action.
